We thank all the members for attending the CPE programs held in the month of December 2011, despite their busy schedules of completing scrutiny assessments. We have conducted 71 hours of CPE programs in the month of December 2011. Apart from the CPE programs we have conducted Orientation, ITT and GMCS batches by utilizing the available space to the fullest in the Branch. This could not have been possible without the help, support and dedication of the staff members of the Branch, We thank them profusely for their unstinted cooperation and hope they continue to do so in the future too.
We convey our thanks to CA M.Devaraja Reddy, Central Council Member and his two brothers for registering two acres of land in the name of ICAI. The market value as per State Government rate is Rupees twenty five lakhs per acre, hence, the total value of this generous act comes to Rupees fifty lakhs. Three cheers to CA M Devaraja Reddy for this benevolent gesture. We place on record our appreciation to CA Tirupathaiah Yarra, Secretary of the Branch for coordinating the land registration with a short notice.
All the participants on the International Study tour to Malaysia and Thailand have wholeheartedly expressed their happiness and immense pleasure for the unforgettable experience on the Super Star Cruise Libra. The visit was a grand success by all means. All the delegates visited the Malaysian Institute of Accountants and had a meeting with the Chairman, Taxation Committee Sri T.K.Beh and officials of that Institute. We convey our sincere thanks to CA S.V. Raja Rao who has taken great deal of effort and meticulously planned the tour and CA A.V. Ratnam for his support in all aspects on the International tour. Due to their efforts we got deluxe rooms on Deck -6 with ocean view on the Super Star Cruise Libra.
During the last month, we have conducted seven CPE Programs with the help of CA B. Ganesh. Out of which five were about "Revised Indian Accounting Standard" series and the other two were on "An overview on Corporate Governance Guidelines and Statement on CARO,2003" - clause by clause. We convey our thanks to CA B. Ganesh for acting as the coordinator and speaker for these two programs. We convey our thanks to the other speakers CA Srikanth Bhakkad, CA Sumit Trivedi, CA Sridhar Nivarthi and CA Manish Muralidhar.
We have conducted two CPE Programs on TDS, one program was conducted by our member CA Pankaj Trivedi and the other was conducted by the officials from the Income tax Department. We convey our thanks to Speaker CA Pankaj Trivedi. We appreciate the efforts of CA China Mastan T, in arranging the CPE program with IT Officials on TDS. We convey our thanks to Smt. Subashri Anantkirshnan, Commissioner of Income Tax (TDS) for sending their officials to our Branch. We had a good interaction with the IT officials which was very useful. We convey our thanks to Sri B.A.K. Satish, Income tax Officer for his presentation and interactive session and thank Mr. Satish, NSDL Officiate and Mr Harshavardhan, ITI for participating in the interactive session.
We have conducted one CPE Program on XBRL related issues. We convey our thanks to the speaker CA Ritesh Mittal.
We have conducted one CPE program on The Real Estate (Regulation and Development) bill, 2011, Exposure draft guidance note on Recognition of Revenue by Real Estate Developers, Tax Accounting Standards - Construction Contracts. We convey our thanks to CA J. Venkateswarlu, Central Council Member who has taken the initiative and for speaking on the subject. We convey our special thanks to the speaker CA Chandrasekhar Gokhale and for his support to the Institute.
We have conducted one program on Recent Amendments to AP VATAct, 2005. We convey our thanks to the Speaker CA.M. Ramachandra Murthy. We also thank Sri Y.Satyanarayana, ADC for sparing his valuable time with us.
We have conducted five CPE Programs on Service tax. Out of which four were conducted in the branch and the other was conducted on the International Study tour to Malaysia & Thailand. We convey our thanks to the speakers Sri M. Narayana Swamy Naidu, Advocate, CA V.S.Sudhir and CA Rama Murthy.T. CA V.Madhu Sudhan Phani spoke on Introduction on International Taxation and Deduction of TDS U/s 195 and Sri M.Narayana Swamy Naidu spoke on service tax with citation of case laws in International Study tour to Malaysia and Thailand. We convey our special thanks to them for accepting our request and speaking on the subject even though they came to that tour as delegates.
We have conducted CPE programs on MAT U/s 115JB and 115JC, "CAAT Tools using TALLY.ERP9 Auditor's Edition, FCRA, 2011", "MSMED Act 2006" and "Financial Statement Requirements under Schedule VI and Import of Goods and services under FEMA". We convey our thanks to the speakers CA A.C.Gangaiah, CA P.Samba Murthy, CA B.Chakrapani, CA M.Ramana Murthy and CA G.Murali Krishna. Our special thanks to the speakers CA A.C. We have met Honourable Union Cabinet MinisterDr. M. Veerappa Moily on 23rd December, 2011 on his visit to Hyderabad along with our two Central Council Members CA J. Venkateswarlu and CA M. Devaraja Reddy on behalf of ICAI and greeted him.
We have conducted one CPE program on "Investor Awareness Program" at Hotel Swetha, Karimnagar on 24th December 2011. We convey our special thanks to the speakers Sri Namashivaya, Director, Zen Securities Limited, Sri Pola Raghunath, Asst.Registrar of Companies and Sri Chenna Keshav, STA, who took the trouble of coming to Karimnagar by road. We convey our thanks to CPE Chapter Karimnagar Convener CA K.Rammohan and Deputy Convener CA M.Santhosh Reddy and members for their cooperation and active participation.
We have also conducted three CPE teleconferences, six career counseling programs explaining about CA course and its importance, four programs on distribution of note books to poor and needy students in Government High Schools.
We are glad to inform you that CPE Directorate has extended the last date for complying with the CPE hours requirement for the callender year 2011 for the members holding COP by 3 months, i.e., upto 31st March, 2012.
Our Branch is celebrating Golden Jubilee year, so we have planned a two day GOLDEN JUBILLEE Celebration Conference on 20th and 21st of January 2012 at Shilpa Kala Vedika. We request all the members to come forward to register their names and participate in large numbers to make this program a grand success. We also request your active participation in the program and help us in getting sponsorships. As this is an important event to our branch, Members are requested to participate in this event without fail.
We have requested members to send their applications for identity cards, which are useful to enter into the Income tax office without any visitor pass. Very few members have responded and their applications have been forwarded to SIRC office for on ward transmission to our Delhi office.
After lot of efforts, we were able to identify two acres of land belonging to APIIC which is suitable for our branch premises. We have forwarded our application for the requisite funds to the President, ICAI and RBA section.
We appeal to all members to contribute articles, to actively participate in the branch activities, to give feed back to improve the services of the Branch and to come forward to be faculty members to teach in the classes conducted by the branch.
